What is telehealth?

Telehealth is a service that allows you to receive mental health and medical care online. Instead of traveling to the office, you can use your smartphone, tablet, or computer to meet with your Dare To Care Too provider through a video conference.

What mental health conditions are treated through telehealth?

The Dare To Care Too team treats the full range of mental health conditions through virtual visits, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Insomnia
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)
  • Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

They can also help parents dealing with child behavioral issues through telehealth. Anytime you need guidance or support for life challenges and conflicts, you can access mental health care using telehealth appointments.

What services are available through telehealth?

Nearly all the services provided in the office are available through telemedicine, but one service requires in-person visits. The Dare To Care Too team specializes in long-acting antipsychotic (LAI) medications. Since LAIs require an injection, you’ll need to schedule an in-person office appointment every few weeks or months.

Except for injections or drawing blood if needed, you receive comprehensive care through telehealth, including:

Initial consultation and psychiatric evaluations

During your first virtual visit, your provider reviews your medical history, learns about your current symptoms, and completes a thorough psychiatric evaluation.

After diagnosing the cause of your symptoms, they recommend a treatment plan that may include medications and/or therapy. You can schedule your follow-up appointments through telehealth or choose to visit in person at any time.

Medication management

Clients needing psychiatric medications can schedule online medication management appointments. At each virtual visit, your provider reviews your symptoms and learns if you have any signs of side effects or problems taking the medication. Then they send your prescription to your preferred pharmacy.

Therapy

Receiving therapy through telehealth is just as effective as meeting in person, but you can skip the travel time and have a face-to-face video conference with your counselor.

How do I access telehealth?

You only need to call the office or request a telehealth appointment online. The team gives you the information needed to set up your appointment and connect for your virtual visit.
